Dear campus community,
UC Provost Newman has asked the campus to submit academic calendars for the 2029-2030 to 2033-2034 academic years by Thursday, August 15, 2024.

The proposed calendars have been created in the same format as the campus calendars approved through 2023-2029 with the following elements:
-
Begin the fall semester on a Wednesday.
-
Begin the spring semester on the day after the January academic and administrative holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).
-
Campus practice is to provide a 10-day break between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of summer sessions to allow for commencement activities and turnover of the residence halls.
-
Summer Sessions is typically 12 weeks divided into five sessions per campus practice. The first session ends in July, and the remaining four end on the same day in August. Campus practice does not include a separate final exam period during summer sessions.
-
Per Regental policy, the calendar includes 146 days of instruction per academic year.
For your information, a set of FAQs on the Academic Calendar are available.
Following the comment period, the Chancellor’s Cabinet will review and approve a final set of proposed calendars and submit them to UC Provost Newman for review.
Regards,
Benjamin Hermaliin
