Joshua Dullaghan joined the College of Letters & Science with over 20 years of experience in higher education, nearly all of it dedicated to UC Berkeley. He most recently served as the Assistant Dean of Instruction and Student Affairs for Rausser College of Natural Resources, where he oversaw a highly effective advising team, managed significant capital projects, and helped craft the college’s strategic plan. As a key advisor on policy development, resource prioritization, organizational design and finance strategy, Joshua brings to this new role deep operational expertise and an unwavering commitment to undergraduate education.

Joshua has also served in a number of leadership roles campus-wide, including Council of Undergraduate Deans and the Undergraduate Advising, Operations, and Policy Committee. His empathetic and collaborative approach has allowed him to align critical decisions with both student outcomes and institutional goals, ultimately advancing Berkeley’s mission of equity and excellence. Throughout his career, Joshua has demonstrated a passion and talent for enhancing the academic success and well-being of undergraduate students.

Regarding his new appointment, Joshua shared: “I am inspired by the Undergraduate Studies Division’s mission to foster belonging and discovery. I see this as an ideal opportunity to apply strategic leadership in direct support of the 21,000 undergraduates who make L&S the heart of this university.”

Joshua is a graduate of UC San Diego (BA in Theatre) and San Francisco State University (MS-MFCC in Counseling.)
