Andrea Lambert-Tan is an innovative and results-oriented administrator with over 25 years of experience in higher education. Since January 2019, she has served as the Assistant Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost (EVCP) at UC Berkeley. In this capacity, she acts as a strategic advisor and confidential resource to the EVCP, Chancellor’s Cabinet, and Provost’s Council, managing immediate office operations, leading crisis management and instructional planning, and overseeing Senior Management Group (SMG) searches and leadership development programs.

Andrea has built a diverse career on the Berkeley campus since 2008. Her previous roles include Strategic Projects Administrator and Deputy Chief of Staff within the EVCP office, Organizational Consultant for the Operational Excellence Program Office, and Organizational Consultant / Learning and Development Lead for the Campus Shared Services implementation team. She also spent several years as the Director of Student Services for the Department of Psychology.

Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Andrea spent a decade at Meridian University in a variety of roles, including Director of Communications, Instructor, and Graduate Student Advisor. She also spent three years teaching English in rural Japan through the Japanese Ministry of Education’s JET Program.

Deeply committed to campus and community engagement, Andrea has served as a Berkeley Staff Assembly (BSA) mentor, a Multicultural Education Program facilitator, co-chair of the Berkeley Facilitator's Network, and a founding member of the Cal Women’s Network. Her leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Award, the Excellence in Management Award, and numerous Spot Awards for Excellence. Outside of her professional portfolio, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, dancing, photography, and wine tasting in Sonoma County where she grew up.
