Jon Phillips joined the School of Journalism in 2022 and has been a staff member at Berkeley since 2017. Prior to his current role, he has worked in a variety of positions at Berkeley, including as Director of HR & Academic Personnel for the School of Journalism, Assistant Director of Graduate Student Services for the Math Department, and as an Undergraduate Advisor for the College of Letters & Science. Jon has served on several impactful committees and programs across campus and with a focus on building community among staff and championing DEIBJ, including Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Committee and the Advising Fellows Program. Jon received his Bachelor of Arts at UC Berkeley and his Master's in Higher Education Administration at Harvard University.
