Dear Campus Community,
We write to share the exciting news that Fabrizio Mejia has been selected to serve as the interim vice chancellor for equity and inclusion for a two-year term commencing April 1, 2025, pending approval by the Office of the President.
Fabrizio is a proud Berkeley alumnus with over 27 years of transformative experience in public higher education. He has dedicated his career to advancing equity, inclusion, and student success. He previously served as the acting vice chancellor for equity and inclusion and the associate vice chancellor for student equity and success. His various leadership roles have equipped him with a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and deep personal commitment to the principles and values that define Berkeley.
In the coming days, Fabrizio will work with the E&I leadership team to begin the careful transition of his previous responsibilities. We are grateful for Fabrizio’s leadership and will continue to elevate the important work of the division.
