The proposed calendars have been created in the same format as the campus calendars approved through 2022-2023 with the following elements:

  • Begin the fall semester on a Wednesday.

  • Begin the spring semester on the day after the January academic and administrative holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).

  • Campus practice is to provide a 10-day break between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of summer sessions to allow for commencement activities and turnover of the residence halls.

  • Summer sessions is typically 12 weeks divided into five sessions, per recent campus practice. The first session ends in July and the remaining four all end on the same day. Campus practice does not include a separate final exam period during summer sessions.

Following the comment period, the Chancellor’s Cabinet will review and approve a final set of proposed calendars and will submit them to UC Provost Brown for review.
