Les Gorske (he/him) is Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration for the Division of Arts and Humanities, College of Letters and Science. He serves as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff for the division. In this capacity, Les works and leads across functional areas, including staffing, finance, faculty recruitment and retention, fellowships and grants, space and academic planning, strategic initiatives, and divisional administration. Previously, Les held the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives in A&H, and he was the Academic Director for a large-scale curricular initiative supported by the Mellon Foundation. Before moving to California, he worked at the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) and the Office of the Provost at The New School in New York City. Les grew up in Antwerp, Belgium, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in English, Film and Theater Studies, and Comparative Literature.
